Vietnam inaugurates 2026 training course on handling chem, rad, nuclear incidents
Vietnam's Military Medical Department (General Department of Logistics and Technology) has inaugurated the 2026 training course on emergency medical response in handling chemical, radiation and nuclear incidents.
According to information posted on Vietnamese media, from 22 -24 September, 65 trainees, including military medical personnel, local health officials and radiation safety specialists from Khanh Hoa province will receive updated knowledge on the civil defence law, the legal framework, and the organisational system for responding to CBRN incidents in Vietnam.
In his opening remarks, Colonel Le Van Dong, deputy director of the Military Medical Department and Head of the training organising committee, said: "Incidents involving toxic chemicals, radiation and nuclear materials require medical personnel to be not only proficient in emergency care and treatment but also skilled in organising forces, coordinating command and strictly adhering to safety standards. Because a single mistake not only affects the victims but also directly threatens the lives of the rescue team itself."
Upon completion of the course, trainees who meet the requirements will be awarded a certificate of completion by the Military Medical Department. They will form the core force advising party committees and commanders of agencies and units on developing plans and effectively responding to CBRN incidents in the locality.
