At an exercise at Camp Pendleton on 11 August 2026, marines practised reconnaissance, hazard identification and exploitation procedures using simulated contaminants during a training event that placed them in a realistic chemical, biological and radiological threat environment.

According to information published by DVIDS, this approach to training "helps reduce safety, resource and environmental challenges when executing conventional CBRN events".
