State Emergency Service of Ukraine

Specialists from the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv Oblast have taken part in a five-day specialised training programme for instructors in Warsaw.

During the training, participants learned about the specific aspects of responding to CBRNE threats.

According to an article published by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on 29 September, participants trained in conducting reconnaissance, responding to hazardous incidents, organising the safe work of rescuers and carrying out decontamination.

They also received an introduction to modern equipment for the initial identification of threats, which will subsequently be provided for use in Lviv Oblast, as well as gaining insight into the experience of Warsaw’s fire and rescue units. Participants were trained as instructors so that they can subsequently pass on their practical experience to their colleagues.

In a gallery of photos posted by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, a Hygiena EnSURE Luminometer, which is a handheld adenosine triphosphate monitoring system used for rapid hygiene verification and sanitation control, was also visible.

The training was conducted as part of a partnership with the Academy of Fire Service of the Republic of Poland.
