Three men killed, two injured in landmine explosion in NE Syria
Three young men have been reported killed and two others injured in a landmine explosion in Syria's northeastern province of Hasakah on Tuesday morning, 27 October, Syria's state-run Al-Ikhbariya TV reported per Xinhua News Agency.
The Syrian Civil Defence said its teams recovered the bodies of the three victims and transported both injured to a local public hospital for treatment, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the explosion occurred while the young men were tampering with explosive remnants of war as they were herding sheep.
Landmines and unexploded ordnance left over from the conflict continue to cause civilian casualties across Syria. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented 273 such deaths since the start of 2026, including 106 children.
