National CBRN focal points from Benin, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Liberia, Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo met in Rabat on 14-15 October for the 26th Regional Strategic Coordination Meeting, hosted by Morocco's Directorate General of Civil Protection.

Writing on LinkedIn, Jaouad Anter reported that participants shared national experiences and discussed regional priorities for addressing CBRN risks. Topics included lessons learned from EU CBRN Centres of Excellence projects and exercises, project implementation, regional training and capacity building, interinstitutional cooperation, women's participation and leadership in the field, and the review of national action plans. Strengthening regional CBRN education and training was a particular focus.

A key milestone was the presentation of the final regional CBRN strategy for the African Atlantic Façade, which will serve as a shared reference for future cooperation and priorities.

Delegates also discussed the activities planned for 2026–2027 by the African Atlantic Façade regional secretariat and exchanged lessons from the P106 exercise, including experiences from Cameroon and Togo.
