Rwanda hosts CBRN tabletop exercise under EU Centres of Excellence initiative
This week Rwanda hosted a tabletop exercise bringing together representatives from relevant institutions to strengthen Rwanda’s preparedness and coordinated response to CBRN threats.
In LinkedIn post on 20 August, the country's Ministry in charge of Emergency Management said that participants used a scenario-based simulation to test command and control, coordination, incident reporting and decision-making, while identifying gaps in policies, standard operating procedures, training, equipment, communication and logistics arrangements.
The permanent secretary to the ministry, Ngoga Aristarque, delivered closing remarks, commending participants and urged institutions to build on the lessons learned, strengthen multi-agency coordination and revisit the national CBRNE action plan.
