Metis

Metis, British specialists in providing radio frequency (RF) and drone detection innovative technologies across diverse sectors, has now sold their Skyperion systems across four continents.

In a press release shared on Monday 14 September, the company announced that Skyperion Rugged has been the "operationally proven RF detection, tracking and identification capability" integrated into the Royal Air Force's ORCUS system and Leonardo’s Falcon Shield deployed with NATO allies in Europe and the Americas.

Ben Hewitt, managing director at Metis said: "Following on from our recent £30 million contract announcement at Eurosatory, with Kongsberg selecting Skyperion Lightweight as the DTI system to support Poland’s new C-UAS capability and a new trials contract in Oceania, we are delighted to announce that we have now sold hundreds of Skyperion across 4 continents.  This is excellent news for a British-designed and manufactured product, and we are very proud that our global customers are recognising the benefits of using an operationally proven, system-agnostic capability like Skyperion that has been specifically designed to meet the ever-evolving challenges of countering nefarious drone activity."

All Skyperion products are designed to build a real-time picture of drone activity and other RF emissions, helping safeguard personnel, assets and critical infrastructure wherever they operate. Skyperion captures RF emissions of varying strengths across the spectrum, filtering out background noise and known entities, before rapidly analysing them to identify and locate potential threats.
