Indian security forces bust hideout in Poonch district, recover six IEDs
Security forces in Indian-administered Kashmir busted a militant hideout in the Draba area of Poonch district on Saturday 15 August, recovering six improvised explosive devices, ammunition and communication equipment.
According to Indian officials per multiple online outlets, a joint operation was launched by the Indian army’s 16 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operations Group Bufliaz and 38 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force.
During the search operation, the forces recovered one gamla-type IED, one gool-type IED, four smaller IEDs, a Motorola wireless set and seven rounds of AK-47 ammunition.
Officials said the recovery averted a potential security threat in the region. Search operations were continuing in the area at the time of filing the report, with further details expected.
