India assigns $11.56 billion USD to defence spending, including CBRN

India's Defence Acquisition Council has approved approximately $11.56 billion USD of spending on defence. For the Indian Army, approval was granted for the procurement of CBRN recce vehicles, high mobility vehicles, self-propelled mechanical mine layers, advanced light helicopters, trawl tanks and sarvatra bridge system.

According to a press release issued on 7 September, the CBRN recce vehicles will be capable of "detecting, identifying, monitoring and marking of areas contaminated with CBRN agents".
