AirBoss Defense Group plans $15m USD CBRN centre for excellence in Michigan
AirBoss Defense Group is set to invest around $15 million USD to establish a new CBRN centre for excellence in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The company provides protective equipment for military personnel, first responders and healthcare workers worldwide.
According to an article published by MLive on 9 September, the facility will "integrate production, research and development and executive operations for next-generation respiratory protection and protective clothing solutions". It is estimated that the development will create 78 jobs over five years.
"Auburn Hills offers a strong manufacturing base, a highly skilled workforce, deep engineering and technology resources, and strong local and state support, making it an ideal location for our CBRN Center of Excellence," said John Johns, president of AirBoss Defense Group. The project received a $300,000 grant from the Michigan Strategic Fund.
